Bea's acting career started in the year the year 2011 when she began her career as a comic after appearing in small part in Irish and British television shows beginning in 2009. As early as 2012 Bea began appearing in sitcoms and sketch comedy. In 2012, she began appearing in panel shows following her win of an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Between 2016 and 2017 she was a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats' team, as well as a participant of the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. Her parents are Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her sister, was also born. She was the winner of the So You think You're Funny Award for the second time. Her surname honors the memory of her late father. Bea's father Brian, an equine vet who committed suicide after Bea reached the age of three, was a sufferer of self-harm. Bea was informed of his suicide only after 13 years old. The stage name Bea is a tribute to her father. She was the author of an opinion piece for The Guardian, published in 2017 on her journey dealing with suicide. Bea was raised with her younger sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer, and a former professional racer. The family was obsessed with horses and racing. Bea began her career as an official guide for tourists for the Irish National Stud. But she quickly realized that her love was acting, not racing.
